Model Experiment on Longitudinal Strength of a Floating Dock

Abstract

To investigate the longitudinal strength of a floating dock of pontoon type the model experiments were carried out which revealed interesting stress concentration at the slit of the pontoon and contribution of pontoon to the longitudinal strength as showed in this paper.
