Abstract

As to the so-called crowed stream caused by people of high density rushing into a narrow doorway, the authors have studied in their latest report on the relation between the width of the doorway, the time required them to pass through and the frequency of arch-action occurred. Now the form itself of the doorway should also be considered in the above relation. By the experiment after the latest one the authors have come to a conclusion on the relation among the form of doorway, time required them to pass through and frequency of arch-action. It could not, however, be confirmed completely by experiment on account of difficulty about the equipment, but the present study will serve as data for planning of doorway and passage.
