Clinical courses of the two patients with high fever and encephalitic symptoms (a 17-yearold male made diagnosis of serous meningitis and a 60-year-old female of Japanese B encephalitis) who responded favourably to the treatment with cold packs on the chest and back of the patients for keeping their temperature under 38°C. for two days, were described.
This method is very simple and will be available for treatment of encephalitis Japonica, for which no specific treatment has been established.
