Abstract
A 76-year-old male patient was hospitalized because of anorexia, clouding of consciousness and jaundice. Jaundice increased progressively. Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram showed marked dilatation of intrahepatic bile ducts and major hepatic duct. Constriction was found in common bile duct around the entrance of cystic duct, and it was considered to be thc main portion of the lesion.
General conditions of the patient was worsened more and more, finally death occured at the 18th day after hospitalization.
Autopsy showed that a soft, yellow tumor as large as child head occured at the hepatic hilum, and bile ducts were found to be compressed. Besides, another soft tumor, measured 3×4cm in size, was found on the right thigh.
Histologically, both lesions were diagnosed as round cell liposarcoma. Although liposarcoma is not uncommon malignant form arising from the soft tissue, it appears infrequently, so far as the case number is concerned.
