Abstract
The seasonal prevalence of hymenopterous parasitoids of Liriomyza sativae Blanchard, L. trifolii (Burgess), and L. bryoniae (Kaltenbach) (Diptera: Agromyzidae) infesting commercially grown tomato plants was surveyed in two greenhouses in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan from 2000 to 2002. Opius sp. (Braconidae) was predominant from May to June in 2000 and 2002. Halticoptera circulus (Walker) (Pteromalidae) was also predominant from May to June in 2002. In other survey periods, Neochrysocharis formosa (Westwood) (Eulophidae) was predominant in both greenhouses. The parasitoid complex that emerged from each of L. sativae, L. trifolii, and L. bryoniae on kidney bean set outside the tomato greenhouse was more abundant than that inside the greenhouse. The dominant parasitoid species that emerged fromeach of the three species of Liriomyza set inside and outside the greenhouse was N. formosa.
