Abstract
Aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG), also known as aminoethoxyvinylglycine hydrochloride, is a biochemical plant regulator. A field experiment was conducted during the 2006 season using trees of Japanese pear ‘Kosui’ to investigate the effect of AVG on the occurrence of ring rot on fruit. A spray of AVG at 150 ppm was applied about 1 month before commercial harvest was expected. The result confirmed that such a pre-harvest spray delayed the occurrence after harvest of ring rot on fruit of Japanese pear.
