Abstract

Sensitivity of an active component fungus, Verticillium lecanii of a biocontrol agent to 97 chemical pesticides was investigated on YPA medium as a low nutrient medium. Colony growth derived from conidia, or colony expansion was inhibited with multi-site activity inhibitors, mancozeb, thiuram, propineb, captan, TPN, and three agents of sterol biosynthesis inhibitor. Benomyl, azoxystrobin, tolclofos-methyl, fluazinum, pyriofenone, and flutianil also inhibited the growth. Pyrimidifen, an acaricide inhibited colony expansion. When these chemicals are mixed to V. lecanii agents, that may inhibit the biocontrol activity. Although, inhibitory effect of these chemicals to formulations of V. lecanii on plants is unclear.
