Discharging pattern of hot springs, mixing of groundwater with hot spring water held in the underground from a few score of meter to several hundred meters, heat energy flowing out from a hot spring locality, and the relation between hot spring phenomena and volcanic activity were discussed from the studies on the hot springs in Hokkaido.
