Abstract
Since Daly proposed the limestone-assimilation hypothesis for the generation of feldspathoidal alkalic rocks from subalkalic magmas, many views have been made by various investigators to ascribe the formation of leucite rccks to the assimilation of granitic rocks by basaltic or carbonatitic magmas. Few experimental works, however, have been made to solve this problem by direct experiments. In order to clarify this old and interesting problem by experiemental approach, quenching experiments at atmospheric pressure and hydrothermal experiments at pressures 1-6kb have been done on the following assemblages of natural and synthetic rock samples.
