Abstract

Object: WHO Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion is the Bible for health and medical professionals in the World. This paper is attempted to suggest the philosophy, theory and strategies of health promotion. It's main foci of attention consist of the following six points: 1. The fundamental idea of HP, 2. Theory of HP, 3. Key player of Promoters of HP, 4. The Development of HP in Japan, 5. The trend of HP in the World, 6. HP strategies in the future.

Contents: Health promotion is the process of enabling people to increase control over their health and its determinants, and thereby improve their health (Ottawa Charter:1986, Bangkok Charter: 2005).

Such a process requires direct involvement of individuals and communities in achieving changes, and health promotion thus should involve the full participation of all the people in the development of their health.

Conclusion: We should try to develop a new Health Education theory towards the health and happiness in collaboration with HP.
