Abstract

We applied both the Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) Tunnel Lining System and Low-Carbon SCC to improve productivity and reduce environmental impact in the Tawarayama-Toyota Road Tunnel No. 1 construction project in 2022. As result, it was constructed high-quality lining with no surface air-voids or unfilled areas, and the number of workers was reduced by half and the time was reduced by 40% in concrete casting. Additionally, we have gotten CO2 emissions equivalent to those of ordinary lining concrete by Low-Carbon SCC.
