Abstract
The authors proposed previously the method for determining the accelerations and second accelerations in a plane linkage mechanism with one degree of freedom. Because each of the oscillating slide block mechanism and the revolving slide block mechanism has sliding motion on the surface of a body that revolves, the sliding velocity and sliding acceleration are involved in the equation of the second accelerations in these mechanisms. This holds good also in the special case where part of the contour of a plane cam is straight. The authors have derived the fundamental formula for determining the second accelerations in the case where a slider slides on a body that revolves at an angular acceleration by means of vector analysis, and apply it to the above-mentioned mechanisms. The second accelerations in these mechanisms are obtained simply as well as accurately by the graphical method.
