Abstract
In dropwise condensation heat transfer, it is known that falling drops display two significant effects, i.e., sweeping and covering effects, At the lowest part of a horizontal tube, the behavior of falling drops differs greatly from that on other inclination surfaces. The purpose of this study is to determine the local heat transfer coefficient at the lowest part of a horizontal tube, by considering the behavior of departing drops. It was found that the local heat transfer coefficient was mainly influenced by the covering effect and the tube diameter.
