Abstract
In the calculation of a compressible viscous supersonic unsteady flow, the stability of the solution and the consumption of the CPU time are major important problems. In the present paper, a new scheme is obtained which includes the Multi Grid algorithm by using the concept of Rusanov's artificial damping. In order to prove the effectiveness of this scheme, the shock wave-boundary layer interaction flow is considered, and the following conclusions are obtained. (1) For the computation time, this method has proved to be about three times times faster Implicit MacCormack Method, which can calculate only steady flows, and more than tens times faster than another scheme which can calculate unsteady flows. (2) Characteristics of the shock wave-boundary layer interaction flow can be simulated well, and the numerical results agree well with the experimental results by Hakkinen. (3) This Multi Grid algorithm can be used for other time marching algorithms.
