Abstract
A computer simulation of a supersonic flow CS2/O chemical laser is performed and the gain characteristics are studied. It is assumed that the flow is quasi-one-dimensional and the nozzle flows undergo instantaneous mixing at the nozzle exits. A chemical and vibractional kinetic model encompassing twenty-four chemical reactions and twenty-seven vibrational transitions is used to approximate the reacting and relaxing mixture contained within the combustor. The numerical results show that the performance of the supersonic flow CS2/O chemical laser is somewhat inferior to that of he supersonic flow CS/O2 chemical laser.
