Abstract
LiAlO2, Li2TiO3, Li2SiO3, Li2ZrO3, are candidtate materials for the TOKAMAK fusion reactor, because they have an excellent stability, high melting temperature, good productivity and easy handling in an air atmosphere. This paper discusses the compatibility between lithium compound oxides and austenitic stainless steeles at 1073K and 1198K which are involved in the mass transfer of Fe, Cr, Ni and Mo to the surface through grain boundaries and the oxides scales which have been identified by X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy and fluorescence X-ray.
