Boiling heat transfer characteristics in liquid-liquid direct contact parallel flow of immiscible liquids were investigated. The effect of operating conditions and column specifications on the UA factor of heat transfer was determined and the following empirical correlation is proposed : St=k1+k2M*aH*bZ*cN*d for conditions where subcooling is constant. The Stanton number for heat transfer to the dispersed phase is shown to correlate with the product of the Jacob number and the Prandtl number, H*. Comparison of heat transfer-flow pattern and the correlation equation of heat transfer showed good agreement within a range of ±30%.
