Abstract
Hydroquinone and benzoquinone behave not only as a donor and an accepter but also as a proton donor and a proton accepter, respectively. Therefore, mixing of them results in a formation of the hydrogen-bonded CT complex(quinhydrone). We want to propose a model which has four characteristics cited above within a single molecule. One of the designed molecules is a TTF fused by two maleimide to its periphery. MO calculation of the molecule shows that the coefficients of HOMO and LUMO are found on the TTF moiety and the maleimide moieties, respectively. The HOMO-LUMO gap is smaller than that of TTF molecule. The gap is expected to decrease through hydrogen-bonding interactions in the crystal.
