Abstract
A tris(phenylisoxazolyl)benzene self-assembles to form helical stacks. The introduction of a perylenebisimide unit onto the periphery of the tris(phenylisoxazolyl)benzene should give rise to a photo-functional assembly whose photochemical properties can be regulated by external stimuli. In this work, we investigated the self-assembling behavior and the photochemical property of chiral tris(phenylisoxazolyl)benzene 1 possessing a perylenebisimide unit. Its UV-vis and CD spectra changed in response to temperatures, suggesting that 1 stacked to form helical assemblies in solution.
