Abstract

Photolysis of N-(2-phenylazyridyl)imine precursor derived from 3-phenylcyclobutenone generates 3-phenylcyclobutenylidene. The reactivity of this carbene toward alcohols is investigated by steady-state and laser flash photolysis.
