A Method for Predicting Occurrence of the Rice Stem Maggot, Chlorops oryzae MATSUMURA

Abstract

Occurrence of the rice stem maggot on rice was closely correlated with the number of adults captured by sweeping nets in hills from late June to early July. The number of adults was positively correlated with the number of injured ears of rice, and negatively with temperature of the previous year, and could be estimated by a multiple regression equation composed of correlated elements.
