Abstract
A hexagonal perovskite is confirmed in BaSiO3 at 32 GPa. The structure exhibits 9R-type sequence with a space group of R-3m. This is the second example of the hexagonal silicate perovskite followed on SrSiO3 compound. It is interested that the degree of face sharing SiO6 octahedra increases in the structure with increasing effective ionic radii of divalent cations.
