On the rank of elliptic curves arising from Pythagorean quadruplets

Abstract

By a Pythagorean quadruplet (a,b,c,d), we mean an integer solution to the quadratic equation a² + b² = c² + d². We use this notion to construct infinite families of elliptic curves of higher rank as far as possible. Furthermore, we give particular examples of rank eight.
