Abstract
The author has been trying terrarium culture of mosses, and found that the use of a terrarium is an excellent way for culture without much care. The author uses a soil mixture consisting of coarse sand (50%), vermiculite (30%) and peat moss (20%). The soil mixture and drainage material should be sterilized by either boiling (30 minutes to 1 hour), or by baking in a 200 ℃ oven (at least 30 minutes). The autumn to winter months are the best for starting new terrariums.
