We constructed a class design for providing multiple preview contents in order to respond to the diverse needs of students in a flipped classroom, based on the theory of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). The types of contents we prepared and conducted classes with contents in PowerPoint format and contents in a video format closely resembling actual classes conducted by a teacher. Although the results of the survey showed that the students tend to prefer viewing the contents that were similar to actual classes, there were also a number of students who selected both types of content. The results suggest that students do not have uniform needs concerning preview content, and that it is possible to apply the UDL framework to preview content for a flipped classroom. However, there were students who did not view the preview contents, even in this class design. It is necessary to examine the mind-set of these students and their activities during class in more detail.
