Abstract
The present study was undertaken to investigate the relationship among polyploids by the size of the facets of the compound eye. The size of the facets in the central part of the outer surface of the compound eye showed no difference between the male and female adults in tetraploid, triploid and diploid. The size of the facets in tetraploid adults was larger than those of triploid and diploid adults and the same tendency was seen in both male and female adults. The size of the facets in triploid adults was larger than those of diploid adults in females, while the size was either large or almost identical in males.
