Abstract
In order to measure the actual performance of an automatic silk reeling machine more easily, four detectors, being capable of distinguishing accidentally dropped cocoons from reeled-up cocoons by detecting size differences, were set up The four detectors, which were set up along the conduit for dropped cocoons, in front of the cocoon separator, repeatedly measured, displayed and printed the size of almost all cocoons The size of a cocoon determined the automatic silk reeling machine's ability to reel, and thus it's performance In order to confirm the performance of the detectors themselves, some experiments were conducted with an automatic silk reeling machine The results proved that the detectors could operate and display cocoon sizes accurately, and showed that the automatic silk reeling machine's performance could be measured easily, without the mediation of human hands other than initial adjustments It was confirmed that the accuracy of the test using the multiple detector method was higher than that of the single detector method previously described by the author.
