Abstract
Linkage analysis of the mottled gray gene (symbol, mgr) was performed. Mating experiment revealed that the mgr gene was linked with Kp-supernumerary leg (EKp) which had been mapped at 0.0 position on the sixth linkage group. A three-point experiment involving ECa, F and mgr was made in order to determine map position of the mgr gene. The locus of F (Flesh) gene on genetic map is 13.6 position. The recombination value between ECa and mgr was 9.00%, ECa-F 12.98%, and mgr-F 4.81%, respectively. Taking correction factor into account, the locus of mgr on was calculated to be 8.86 units away to the right of ECa. Hence the mgr gene is localized at 8.9 the sixth linkage group.
