Abstract
Latex agglutination test as a quantitative assay for densonucleosis virus of the silkworm, Bombyx mori was developed. The effects of varying proportions of virus, antibody-sensitized latex, shaking and incubation time were investigated, and optimum conditions for the reaction were determined. Addition of larval extracts did not inhibit the virus-antibody reaction in this assay sistem. The amount of virus in the infected larvae estimated by the latex agglutination test was proportional to that estimated by the single radial immunodiffusion test.
