Effect of sulfur on the decomposition reaction of dicumyl peroxide in mineral oil was studied. The decomposition products at 130°C to 160°C were determined quantitativly by infra-red spectrum measurement, and the decomposition mechanism of dicumyl peroxide in mineral oil contained sulfur was discussed. It was considered that in the presence of sulfur ionic decomposition prefered to radical one at low temperature.
