Abstract
The orientation distribution of lattice planes in rolled nylon-6 film, and in rolied, one-way drawn, and way drawn polyethylene terephihalate (PET) films was examined by X-ray technique. The directions of the Orientaticiri of (206) and (202) planes in nylon-6 film showed that (002) planes were tilted from the surface by about 5 degree, and that The observed distribution profile of (002) planes consisted of two profiles overlapped and had a rather broad maximum at the film surface. The (100) planes in PET were recognized to be tilted by about 3 degrees from the, film surface in all the samples.
It was concluded that the planes of molecular chains are approximately p arallel to the film surface consequently the lattice planes are tilted in both nylon-6 and PET films.
