Abstract
The Synthesis of alkyl chloro silane, i.e, silicon resin is described. It could be found that therate of reaction is maximum under the following conditions : 300°C of reaction temperature 30-50cc per minute of flow velocily of methylchloride, silicon and copper powder containing 50% Cu as contact mass, and stanuous chloride or cuprous chloride as catalysts in the direct reaction between silicon and methyl chloride. Then a new method of synthesis of Phenyl chloro silane was described. Tetraphenyl silane was first prepared by Post's method. It was found that by heating the mixture of tetraphenylsilane and silicon tetrachlorid at high temperature under the presence of catalyst of aluminum chloride in seald glass tubes, transferences of phenyl radicals between each substance occured and gave phenyl chlorosilane.
This new method of synthesis of other alkyl chlorosilane was applied as described in the fourth part.
