Nanosheets are highly anisotropic two-dimensional functional nanomaterials. Our research group has revealed optical manipulation behaviors of nanosheets. A single nanosheet dispersed in water is optically trapped, whereby the nanosheet is unidirectionally oriented parallel to the propagation direction and the linear polarization plane of the illuminated light. Herein, our attempts for realizing quick optical manipulation using a low power laser light are introduced. A nanosheet with a large refractive index could be optically manipulated quickly even by employing a low power laser beam. The hybridization of a nanosheet with an organic compound also significantly reduced required laser power for optical manipulation.
