Abstract
In this paper, keywords relevant to civil engineering are extracted from the present elementary school curriculum guidelines for science. Furthermore, an experiential lesson about civil engineering education based upon these keywords is proposed. As part of the sixth grade science curriculum unit "structure of the ground and change," a lesson about the three themes of "experience of the natural disasters of mudflow and pyroclastic flow," "liquefaction," and "resonance" was conducted.
