Abstract
The study is of an offshore structure consisting of slender columns near the free surface and large buoyancy pontoons near the base that is moored to the sea bottom like a Tension Leg Platform. The effect of the spacing between the columns of the structure on the horizontal component of the total wave force due to an irregular wave has been investigated. Since the columns are slender, diffraction of the incident wave field has been neglected and the wave force has been computed using a method proposed by Borgman for an irregular wave.
