Abstract
Comparative study was performed on the effect of analgesics between the method using electrical stimulation and the other methods using pressure or thermal stimulation in 30 healthy male volunteers. Acetylsalicylic acid of 0.5g and 1.0g, Mefenamicacid of 0.25 and 0.5g, Pentazocine of 25mg and Placebo were administered orally under double blind method condition. In this new method using electrical stimulation, the placebo group displayed almost always similar values to the pre-medication at various time after administration. And this fact also provided evidence for significant reproducibility of the data. This moreover, is evidence that the test procedure is superior to the conventional methods employing pressure stimulation or thermal stimulation where the effect of placebo and analgesics medication varied at various times after dosing.
