From Hospital Psychiatry to Community Mental Health : New Approach to Mental Disorder

Abstract

Recent advance of psychiatric treatment shows that the clinical approach for psychiatric patient must not be in hospital alone, but in his family and his community. New finding of etiology for mental disorder shows that the understanding a mental patient can not do from a patient alone, but from his family and community. Our department of psychiatry designed, from biginning, a new approach for mental disorder from above points of view, named Kyorin Mental Health Center. In this paper, the details of the Center plane are disccused with some case presentations.
