Abstract
So-called "Recurrent dislocation" of the patella is a rare disease and some cases have been reported in Japan, although it had been known for many years in Europe and America and a number of cases were reported. In this paper, we report a case of congenital bilateral permanent dislocation of the patella. We made an effort to review extensively the literature on this disease. A nine-year-old girl was admitted to our hospital by complaining gait disturbance. Any congenital and familial disposition for the dislocation had not been found at that time. Since present surgery did not develop any joint movement sequelae such as contractures same operation will be performed on the other side.
