LCA for energy and minerals (and coffee)

Abstract

This article introduces some of the LCA-related work that we do in the Energy Economics Research Group of Kyoto University’s Graduate School of Energy Science. Our research broadly considers current and future energy technologies and their integration and operation in socio-economic systems. Among various techniques for considering the sustainability implications of energy technologies and the extraction of minerals that they rely on, LCA is an important and useful tool.
