Abstract

I t was found that kynureni c ac id shows s t rong f luores cenc e when i r radiated wi th black l ight in the pre sence o f hydr ogen peroxide, and the method was appl ied to HPLC and the de terminat ion of kynureni c ac id in serum o r ur ine was e s tabl i shed. Fur thermo re, i t was appl ied to a method fo r measur ing the concent rat i on o f drugs having a s t ruc ture s imi lar to that o f t ryptophan metabo l i t es . For separat ion, 18-Crown-6 (CE) was added to the mobi le phas e to al low cor re c t ion o f the peak shape of N1 -methylni c ot inamide and separat ion of s odium c romoglycate f rom the monomer. The separat ion method by CE made i t po s s ibl e to f ree ly move the retent ion t ime o f kynureni c ac id by adjus t ing the po tas s ium ion concent rat ion, and a s imul taneous det erminat ion method wi th kynurenine was es tabl i shed. In addi t i on, 2-pyr idinecarboxyl i c ac id der ivat ives were found to emi t f luore s cence under l ight i r radiat ion in the presence of z inc acetate . The method was appl ied to the determinat ion of pi c ol ini c ac id in serum and dipi col ini c ac id in nat to. Recent ly, for the s imul taneous de terminat ion o f quinol ini c ac id and pi co l ini c ac id, whi ch have po lar i ty s imi lar to that o f wate r, a method us ing CE and t r ipotas s ium c i t rate wi th a s low retent ion t ime was inves t igat ed. Thus, by developing a separat ion technique of HPLC wi th f luor es cence detec t ion, a use ful measurement me thod has been developed.
