Abstract
To collect parcels of individual shipper directly on his demand is an important subject in the future delivery services. We have studied in this paper the feasibility of the system called “on demand-parcel-collection and delivery system.” We firstly describe features of the system comparing with the existing milk-run type parcel collection system, then show the basic characteristics obtained by the simulation for a basic model of the system.
