Abstract
The purpose of this study is to estimate the stockout-rates in supermarkets. At first we forecasted the sales using the POS data and the Causal data, and then we estimated the stockout-rates by matching the inventory data and the forecasting data. To improve the forecasting accuracy of normal linear regression prediction we fitted the Generalized Additive Model (GAM) based on Poisson distribution to the POS data.
