Abstract
Modal shift from truck to railway or ship is very important policy to achieve the Kyoto protocol's targets in Japan. In particular, ferry has been paid attention as a mean of realizing intermodalism. Therefore, a lot of researchers have shown the thesis about ferry transport. However, they have not analyzed the ferry routes.
In this paper, the authors studies on the route choice model for truck transportation and middle/long distance ferry routes. Firstly, the authors will show the route choice model for truck with disaggregated binary logit model. Secondly, we will investigate the factor of route choice model. Finally, we will describe the existing ferry routes and new ferry routes from the viewpoint of modal shift.
