Abstract
A 50 PW, 10 fs ultrahigh-peak-power laser has been conceptually designed. The system is based on
optical parametric chirped pulse amplifi cation. A 250 J DPSSL and a fl ash-lamp-pumped kJ laser, and a
broadband OPCPA chain with partially deuterated KDP(pDKDP)crystals are designed as new
repeatable pump sources and a few-cycle pulse amplifier, respectively. The pDKDP has been
successfully grown at several different deuteration ratios. A broadband grating with high diffraction
effi ciency in the compressor is under designing.
