Abstract
Compact, powerful lasers will bring great benefit in cutting-edge science and technology. The recent
progress of micro solid-state photonics offers tremendous effects in the downsizing of power lasers.
Such extremely high-brightness lasers will enable new sciences, including laser-driven electron accelerators,
toward a table-top X-ray free electron laser (XFEL) based on laser plasma acceleration (LPA) and
THz wave dielectric laser acceleration (THz-DLA). These tiny integrated lasers are also promising for
the future of high-field laser industrial, bio-medical, and safety applications as well as infrastructure
maintenance for subsequent innovations.
