Abstract

Energy monitor in high power CO2 laser system is required high performance, for instance, wide dynamic range and high sensitivity. Moreover, it must have large aperture size for detecting large laser beam. Pyroelectric pol-yvinylidene-fluoride (PVDF) calorimeter has sufficient properties to satisfy the needs as ment mentioned above. We have developed 350 mmφ pyro-film (PVDF) calorimeter of which laser absorption layer was 50μm thick Nextel paint. Its dynamic range was 3 x105 and high sensitivity was acquired.
