Abstract
To make a planar small lens by optical damage, MMA (Methyl Meth-Acrylate) plate is processed by the irradiation of pulse YAG laser. The refractive-index distribution of the planar small lens shows Lorentz shape. The maximum refractive-index difference of the lens is 10-4-10-3, the focal length is 100-0.1 cm and the lens diameter is 2-4 mm. Those values are obtained by adjusting the shot number, the energy, the pulse width and the energy density of YAG laser.
