Abstract
Small lens arrays are processed on methyl meth-acrylate plate by the irradiation of a stepped-scanning YAG-laser focused beam. The localized refractive-index change distribution of each lens produced by the optical damage looks like the hypabolic secon shape, and the maximum refractive-index difference of the lens is 0.002. The lens radius is 0.85 mm. Those small lenses have been formed with the 5×1 and 4×3 lens arrays at 2 mm intervals.
