Production of 3-D Plastic Models with a UV Laser

Abstract

Recently optical machining methods using laser power have been studied to replace mechanicalmachining such as a milling cutter. In this paper, after brief introduction of various methods, thepractical system using photopolymer and a UV laser are described in detail. These methods cancreate fully 3-dimensional plastic models automatically according to CAD data.
