Abstract
Scaling of a laser-diode pumped Nd: YAG laser is demonstrated by means of fiber-bundle end-pumping. Using nineteen fibers with thirty-eight 1-W laser diodes, we obtained a 6.7W TEMoo mode output at 1.06 μm. Intracavity frequency doubling from an LD-pumped Nd: YAG laser us-ing KTiOPO4 facilitates the efficient generation of continuous wave 532nm green output as high as 1W. By using the green output, another doubling to 266nm was acheived by means of an ex-ternal resonant β-BaB2O4 doubler.
